Pretty big lizard. Hope you captured and released this critter.
I echo Roy's hope. I was cleaning my window wells yesterday and found two frogs...one fairly large. i have seen toads in our wells but never frogs. I wonder how long eggs can lie dormant and still hatch as this rock has been there for 6 years now...and this particular window well does have river rock at the bottom of it. Odd things happen...
I encountered this fellow in the yard of a home I was staging in Phoenix not too long ago. Big Surprise!
Fortunately, he was in the yard, not in the house. We had him removed and released to more appropriate surroundings.
One day I parked my bike near the third garage door. A couple guys were working on the landscaping in the back yard. The tractor was parked in the drive way. I went through the first garage door, which was already open. I opened the third garage door and brought my bike in. When I turned around there was a rattlesnake under the bucket of the tractor not more than 3 feet from where my bike was.
